A lot of these grave effects involve banishing the card itself to trigger the effect, such as Zoodiac Combo, Return of the Dragon Lords, Void Seer, and so on. The effect can be very relevant in the modern game, since basically half of the cards printed these days have effects that can be activated from the grave (looking at you, Lost Wind :unamused: ). Lancea's effect, shortly put, is a one-turn, Speed 2 Imperial Iron Wall. Both Artifacts have the ability to trigger their effects from the hand, essentially being hand traps! This makes the two stand out specifically from the remainder of the Artifact archetype, with Lancea having the anti-meta effect we love. However, Lancea possesses an effect that only one other Artifact monster has, the other being Chakram. Lancea features the same base effects of being able to set them during your turn, as well as a Special Summon upon destruction. ![]() With HAT and WWIA, they saw some decent meta play, but that's that. Of course, much of the spotlight has been given to Moralltach and Sanctum, but that's all good and well. So, it took us this long to finally cover an Artifact, eh? Historically, Artifacts have had a decent presence in side decks as stun cards through several formats. ![]() During your opponent's turn: You can Tribute this card from your hand or face-up from your side of the field neither player can banish cards for the rest of this turn (This is a Quick Effect). During your opponent's turn, if this Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard: Special Summon it. You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell Card.
